I dared!
Nothing quite like open-air yoga first thing in the morning :-)
After my serene start to the day, the journey south became progressively less serene! Once into the major conurbations of Manchester, and then Birmingham, the traffic really became heavy and the driving more tiring.
We enjoyed the relative ease of the toll M6 (worth every penny of the £11 fee!) and were doing well heading toward Cirencester by mid afternoon only to find the road blocked and no further progress possible unless we did a U-turn and tried to wend our way through back roads.
Fortunately the blockage was right by a parking layby, so, with the beauty of travelling in a motorhome, we simply pulled over and took a much needed hour of rest and ate home-made chicken soup! Once ready to resume the accident was just being cleared so we felt we hadn't lost any time in a sense!
Famous last words as not much further down the road we got stuck in miles of crawling traffic approaching Chippenham. If we were to move south, it would only be just over the border; couldn't cope with this much humanity on a permanent basis LOL!
Finally arrived at our destination around 6:30 pm and 570 miles after leaving Forres yesterday. Dinner's in the oven and hopefully a peaceful evening lies ahead of us!
Parked! And no driving tomorrow :-)
