Enjoying a spot of meditation
Phase I of the Grand Floral Project (GFP) was executed today taking all the non-flower sundries; oasis, trays, buckets, ribbons (the list goes on!) round to my parent's garage. We loaded both mountain bikes up and used them as pack horses and wheeled them the mile down the road to curious looks from our fellow campers. We also took a bag of laundry to run through their machine; felt like University students returning home!
We are now back and getting ready for an early night as the alarms have been set for 0230 ready for us to head off to New Covent Garden where Phase II GFP will be embarked upon (opening hours 0400 - 1000). I have to say I'm super excited about this; choosing all the blooms from wholesalers in one of the most iconic markets is a dream come true for me (and perhaps most flower arrangers). I've calculated that I need around 180 stems to produce the various arrangements.
Hopefully there will be a full report with plenty of pictures later in the day tomorrow.
An awesome moth taking a break on Elly's wheel, yet to identify what type it might be!
I haven't bothered to upload a picture of the other site-dwellers that have made their presence felt today as I assume all readers have seen pigeons before! Let's just say that a pitch beneath a nice shady tree has its drawbacks and found us moving Elly forward as far as possible to avoid being in the 'drop zone'!
Off to bed!
